John's interest in computers began with the purchase of his first one in 1977. It was a Tandy (Radio
Shack) TRS-80. By today's standards it was little more than a
calculator.
Costing over
one thousand dollars it was a major
expenditure. However, it proved to be a valuable tool in his retail bookstore.
However, even though it was a justifiable business expense, a large
part of his decision to invest in the computer was
his interest and fascination with the new machine.
From that time forward John has been surrounded by computers. He
used them intensively in his law practice and in the various business
